Visual Guidelines 02

Core Visual Motifs

The Gold Logo with Gradients & Textures

  • Gradients: Subtle gradients within the gold can add depth and a sense of richness, mimicking the way light reflects off precious metals.
  • Textures: Experiment with overlays that suggest natural materials – a subtle wood grain, a hint of burlap, or a weathered stone texture can imbue the logo with a touch of history and artisanal connection.
  • Placement: Always ensure the logo stands out, with plenty of space for it to ‘breathe,’ particularly on packaging or busy backgrounds.

Dark Carbon Tones with Warmth

  • Backgrounds: This charcoal black can create a striking backdrop for showcasing the gold logo or as a base color for design elements.
  • Balance: Always pair the dark carbon with warm accents (gold, splashes of other brand colors). Avoid it becoming harsh or too stark. Consider textured backgrounds to break up the flatness of large spaces in this color.

The Brazilian Flag (Abstractly)

  • Color Blocks: Simple patterns of green, yellow, and blue in geometric forms can evoke the flag without being literal.
  • Subtle Shapes: Consider a faded diamond shape referencing the flag behind imagery of farmers or landscapes.
  • Use Sparingly: This is best employed as an accent, not a dominating element, to maintain a sophisticated overall feel.

Honest Farmers

  • Faces Tell Stories: Close-ups of weathered hands, sun-touched faces, and genuine smiles showcase the hard work and dedication behind the coffee.
  • In Their Element: Photograph them in the field, amidst the coffee plants, or during the harvest, showcasing their knowledge and connection to the land.
  • Diversity of Representation: Include farmers of different ages, genders, and backgrounds to reflect the richness of Brazil’s farming communities.

The Coffee Journey (Bean Sprouting, Cherries, Hands, Roasting Facility, Cup)

  • Infographics: Create a simple, visually engaging infographic that traces the journey from seed to cup, using icons or illustrations.
  • Collage Style: Assemble a series of smaller images on a webpage or brochure, each highlighting a step in the process.
  • Short Videos: Capture the moments in a short video, set to music or with natural sounds, highlighting the transformation.

Hand-Drawn Elements

  • Icons: Replace purely digital icons with hand-drawn ones for a touch of warmth and individuality on your website or packaging.
  • Illustrations: Consider a simple illustration of the coffee plant, or a hand-drawn map showcasing your sourcing regions in Brazil.
  • Subtlety is Key: Hand-drawn doesn’t mean childish. Maintain a sophisticated style, even with these elements.
